London, Paris, and Barcelona!
In 2010, we traveled to London, England, Paris, France, and Barcelona,
Spain. We returned home just in time to miss the volcano
eruption in Iceland that stranded hundreds!
2009 East
Coast: Take 5
In 2009 we explored the
nation's birthplace. We climbed Bunker Hill, saw Mary Poppins on Broadway, followed
in the footsteps of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, saw the Hope Diamond, ran from the ghosts of
Williamsburg, and much more.
2009
Presidential Inauguration
In January 2009 we braved the
cold and up to 2 million people while visiting Washington DC for the
inauguration of Barack Obama, America's 44th President.
Wow, what an experience! During
Spring Break, 2008, students, parents, and teachers from Jurupa
Middle School visited one of the oldest civilizations in the
world. We walked on the Great Wall, explored the Forbidden
City, examined
Emperor Qin's Terra Cotta Warriors, left behind to protect him
in the afterworld, and visited infamous Tiananmen Square, site
of 1989's bloody student rebellion. The Chinese
government's account of what happened? "There were no
tanks, no one was killed."
2007 East
Coast: Part IV
"Old Ironsides", the Pirate
Queen, the
Smithsonian Institute, the U.S. House of Representatives, the
Declaration of Independence, Mt. Vernon, and Jamestown were some of the highlights
as forty two students, parents and teachers braved the cold and rain
to explore the Eastern Seaboard, birthplace of America.
Well, everyone, we did it!
Fifty-one students and parents explored Italy during Spring
Break 2006. We
traveled the canals of Venice, saw the art of Michelangelo
and Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, took pictures of the Leaning Tower in Pisa, visited
St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, and walked the streets of Pompeii.
2005
New York, New York!
Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Williamsburg.
During Spring Break, 2005, 32 representatives of Jurupa Middle
School visited the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Some
of the highlights included the U.S.S Constitution, the Empire State
Building, the Declaration of Independence, and the Smithsonian.
Spring Break of 2004 saw Jurupa Middle
School traveling to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Snorkeling
in the Caribbean Sea, exploring the courts of the Mexican Ball
Game, and climbing some of the world's most impressive pyramids
were just some of the highlights.
